A Gémeaux for Bookaboo, Champion of Children's Literature
TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2014 /CNW/ - Bookaboo, produced by Attraction Images, in collaboration with TFO, was awarded a prix Gémeaux (French Gemini Award) in the Best Direction in a Children's or Youth Program or Series: fiction category, during the 29th Gala des prix Gémeaux held yesterday in Montréal.
"This recognition highlights as much the quality Attraction Images productions, as the rigorous selection of educational content at TFO. "A story a day or I just can't play!" says Bookaboo, a puppet dog, star drummer in a rock band, who never goes on stage unless he's got his story. Every time, in the Bookabus, a celebrity arrives to the rescue to read a captivating story to Bookaboo and young viewers. Famous guests have included Julie Payette, Isabelle Boulay, Pierre Verville, Véronic Dicaire, and Élyse Marquis.
Bookaboo is a great example of how all means are good to spark the love of reading in children and to encourage parents to read to their kids at home. Little ones can see lovable puppet Bookaboo from Monday to Friday at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm on TFO.
