KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jared Bruhin and John Edwards might have two of the most coveted jobs on the campus of University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
They're Smokey's handlers and his best pals.
Bruhin and Edwards are responsible for everyone's favorite bluetick coonhound while he's on campus for game days and other appearances. Smokey is one of the university's most recognizable faces. Bruhin and Edwards take care of Smokey's pre-game bath and lead him as he greets and poses for photos with his fans. The duo is also with Smokey as he leads the Volunteer football team in running through the T at the beginning of every home football game.
When he's on Rocky Top, Smokey stays with Bruhin, the senior handler, in the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity house. The fraternity has been the on-campus home to UT's mascot since 1977.
