A Clean Slate, Inc. (DRWN), Announces Formation of a Mediation Subsidiary
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A Clean Slate, Inc. (DRWN), www.acleanslatecorp.com announced today that it has signed an agreement to engage Ronald F Matzner as CEO of a new division, A Clean Slate Mediation Solutions. Mr. Matzner is the founder and President of Divorce Mediation Services of Florida.
Bob Goldman, President of A Clean Slate, Inc. (ACS) stated: "The formation of A Clean Slate Mediation Solutions and Ronald Matzner's commitment to A Clean Slate Inc constitute a major step toward the realization of the ACS vision. A Clean Slate, Inc. now is able to offer individuals and families experiencing financial and marital distress, as well as students and small business owners a comprehensive portfolio of legal and mediation services."
Goldman continued: "In a nation with a population in increasing financial and marital distress, mediation is a growth industry with no market leader and no national or regional brands. A Clean Slate intends to fill this void, providing common sense solutions and alternatives enhanced by its innovative cloud-based technology, consumer friendly standards of care, and the continuing support of its signature Well-Being Community.
"Mr. Matzner brings impressive credentials, accomplishments and expertise in business, government and law to A Clean Slate. In government, he served during the Clinton Administration in the Small Business Administration and Office of Management and Budget. During the Bush Administration, he served as national coordinator of an intergovernmental initiative. In business, he founded and operated a number of niche market enterprises and consulting practices. In legal and mediation services he founded and operated a successful law practice in New Jersey for 17 years. He was one of the early proponents of mediation, operating a Family Mediation practice from 1985 to 1993. Recognizing the growing need for mediation services, he formed Divorce Mediation Services of Florida in 2010. He has degrees from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and from Yale Law School."
Goldman continued: "The need for mediation and other alternative dispute resolution services is evident in the daily news reports that give increasing exposure to the personal debt and financial crises of the American middle class. Debt, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Financial trauma often leads to marital distress and divorce. The numbers are staggering. Total US consumer debt rose 3% in March 2011 to $2.419 Trillion. The US credit card 180-day delinquency rate was 6.21% in February 2011. An astonishing 11.1 million households or 23% of all mortgaged homes were "underwater" in Q4, 2010. Foreclosure is weighing down the economy nationwide. RealtyTrac estimates there are over 1 million foreclosures that should have been already filed that have been delayed by banks. There were over 1.53 million personal bankruptcies filed in 2010. The American Bar Association Journal reports an expected increase again in 2011. Divorces are surging nationwide. Yet, all this may be just the tip of the national tsunami of debt, foreclosure, bankruptcy and divorce threatening the middle class.
"A Clean Slate will concentrate initially on its home state of Florida, a market in the midst of an astounding debt and foreclosure crisis. The Sun Sentinel newspaper in Florida reported a 40% increase in South Florida personal bankruptcy filings in 2010. There were 398,825 foreclosure cases in Florida in 2009. According to Realty Trac, South Florida households had the highest total of foreclosure filings in the nation in the third quarter of 2010 – one in 41 homes! "
Goldman continued: "Currently, there are too many fragmented, partial and questionable debt solutions available. Worse yet, having gone through one of the stand-alone solutions, an individual finds almost a complete absence of the ongoing support necessary to help restore and maintain an individual's 'clean slate.' In contrast, ACS expects to offer an array of solutions that shepherd distressed individuals and families all the way through to financial health and stability. This will give them a 'fresh start' within a stigma-free environment that mitigates much of the negative consequences often endured by people who have availed themselves of a stand alone solution."
Goldman concluded, "In the process of fulfilling its vision for middle class relief and reconstitution, A Clean Slate has the opportunity to become the first national brand in the debt resolution, bankruptcy and mediation space with the capacity to change peoples' lives forever and offer hope for the heretofore underserved."
