LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bella's Pet Parent Day is a brand new national and annual holiday founded by Stacey Starks as a way to celebrate and honor Pet Parents and all they do for their fur babies. Every year the number of American households with pets continues to grow, and most consider them to be family members, not just pets.

More and more, the pet community is hearing the term "Pet Parent" instead of pet ownership, further solidifying the importance of pets in the household. To honor this special brand of parenthood, Pet Parents will now have their own holiday to celebrate, beginning Sunday, April 26, 2015 with the holiday falling thereafter, on the last Sunday of every April.
Pet Parents share the knowledge that raising a well-rounded pet involves more than just feeding or giving them shelter; they understand that their fur babies also require attention, socialization, and affection, amongst other responsibilities. Additionally, dog parents know that training and routine is important, thus including daily walks and parks visits. All Pet Parents know that their fur babies, like any child, will at some time have to see the doctor, whether it be for their yearly check-up, a teeth cleaning, or the scary, late-night emergency vet visit. Pet Parenting is a beautiful responsibility and yet, a very serious commitment.
"As a Pet Parent myself, oftentimes I would feel left out when Mother's Day rolled around. Those who did not have pets didn't seem to realize that I am also a mommy, to the fur baby kind," said founder Stacey Starks. "I soon discovered that I wasn't alone with this feeling. My motto in this circumstance became, 'if you can't join them, make your own holiday!' "
Pet Parents love their fur babies deeply and mourn their loss even deeper, and it is hoped that this holiday, in addition to celebrating Pet Parents, also helps to bring awareness of the bond between Pet Parent and fur baby. The love is real, the commitment strong, and the devotion true.
About Bella's Pet Parent Day
Stacey Starks has been a professional pet sitter for over 14 years and has observed first-hand the love Pet Parents have for their fur babies. Having no human children of her own, her fur babies have been the recipients of her love, and in return they have given her immeasurable amounts of unconditional love and gratitude. Immersed in the animal community, she witnessed a real need for a holiday designed especially with Pet Parents in mind. With Bella being her fur baby inspiration, Bella's Pet Parent Day was born.
