99 Cents Only Store in West LA Displays FIDM Students' High Fashion Designs Crafted from Everyday Items within the Store
CITY OF COMMERCE, Calif., Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 99 Cents Only Stores located at 11040 W Pico Blvd. is displaying four fashion-inspired displays crafted by visual design students that attend FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Four groups of students were challenged with creating a one-of-a-kind design using items purchased from 99 Cents Only Stores. Each group selected a theme at random based on the departments in the store. The themes included Household Supplies, Halloween Products, Food Packaging and Party Supplies.
"This visual design challenge presents a unique experience for our visual communications students to apply skills learned within their curriculum to a real world design opportunity. Students will see their design concepts brought to life and showcased in a public venue," says Cynthia Patino, Director of FIDM Visual Communications.
