8th Annual Night of Laughter Attracts Sold Out Crowd in Support of Stomach Cancer Awareness
DDF uses comic relief to raise funds for stomach cancer research
HOLLYWOOD, Fla., March 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer (DDF) held its eighth annual Night of Laughter at the Improv Comedy Club at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Sunday, January 29, 2017. The night consisted of amazing raffle items, signature Periwinkle Paradise drinks, and hilarious comedians including headliner Dean Napolitano, comedian and actor. Event Chair Sheri Albert and her committee hosted a sold out crowd of 400 attendees.
Sheri welcomed the audience and introduced DDF President and Founder, Debbie Zelman, highlighting her strength and resilience for having survived stomach cancer for almost nine years. "Debbie's mission has always been the same—to raise awareness about this vicious disease and give comfort to other survivors," Albert said. "After losing my father to cancer, it makes me proud to see her continue to fight and to be a part of this amazing event with all of these supporters."
The Title Sponsor for the evening was Lilly Oncology and the Stand Up Sponsor was Dr. Michele Lapayowker, D.O. Her husband Stewart Lapayowker, a business aviation attorney, took off his lawyer's hat to entertain the crowd. "Everyone needs a good laugh once in a while, and DDF's Night of Laughter gives people the chance to do just that," Lapayowker said. "Debbie's Dream Foundation does wonderful things for patients and their families, and I'm happy to be a part of it for the sixth year in a row."
