MAYORS TO HOLD OPENING PRESS CONFERENCE | Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10:30am
WASHINGTON, Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the midst of the Presidential Inaugural, almost 300 of the nation's mayors will convene in Washington, D.C. at the Capital Hilton to meet with Congressional leaders and Administration officials to push for a balanced approach to deficit reduction and sequestration cuts, as well as measures to spur jobs and economic growth in America's cities and metropolitan areas that are still plagued with high unemployment. Other issues topping the agenda are gun control and school safety, Hurricane Sandy response, immigration, and the threat to tax exempt municipal bonds.

The nation's mayors will hold an OPENING PRESS CONFERENCE on Thursday, January 17 at 10:30 am in the Statler Room (2nd Floor).
Also on Thursday, Vice President Biden will address the nation's mayors at the Opening Plenary Luncheon in the Presidential Ballroom (2nd Floor).
