MIDLAND, Mich., Nov. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Midland Center for the Arts presents its 7th Annual Summer Camp Kick Off (SCKO) on Saturday, March 14, 2015, from noon to 3 p.m. This event is a terrific "one-stop" shop to help parents streamline their summer camp planning for their children, and is free and open to the public.
The focus of SCKO is to raise awareness of summer camps, and registration is open to organizations with all types of summer camps: day, overnight, dance, sports, art, etc. Exhibitors are encouraged to have hands-on activities at their booths. Exhibitors are also encouraged to bring information on any adult or family offerings in addition to offerings for children. Camp registrations may be taken during the event.
"Summer Camp Kick Off is well organized and set up so that each family will visit all the booths," says Bob Nelb of the Saginaw Bay Community Sailing Association. "This event gives us the public visibility that is so important to a small organization such as ours, and each year we have several children – and sometimes their parents – sign-up for sailing lessons."
Education Coordinator of the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio, Cindy Keefe, says "Summer Camp Kick Off helped bring awareness to people who didn't realize we offer architecture and design camps. We had six new campers this year who signed up due to this event!"
Early Bird Registration is $100; $85 for nonprofits. Must be postmarked by February 6, 2015.
Last-Chance Registration: $150. Must be postmarked by February 20, 2015.
