In the Spirit of Holiday Giving, Third Annual Event Benefits Mama Hope Projects in Africa
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its ongoing commitment to driving social impact and fostering a passionate, philanthropic company culture, the 6sense team came together to support the Mama Hope Third Annual Silver and Gold Holiday Party. The sold-out event on December 8 greatly exceeded its fundraising goal to aid Mama Hope's current education projects in Tanzania. To bolster Mama Hope's mission to foster entrepreneurs in developing nations and build sustainable communities, the 6sense team came out to galvanize giving at the event and aligned its efforts with the nonprofit's advocacy program with a $10,000 matching donation.
6sense wholeheartedly supports Mama Hope's mission and is honored by the opportunity to participate in its project to drive impact and effect lasting change. As a company, 6sense has a greater purpose beyond building a predictive intelligence platform and strives to redefine success in business by ensuring companies compete to not only be the best in the world but also the best for the world. 6sense encourages its team to focus on others before themselves and aims to foster a culture conducive to effecting global change.
"Our support of Mama Hope exemplifies who 6sense is and what we stand for. The universe has blessed me with an incredible opportunity and a talented team and I'm so grateful for the chance to give back," said 6sense CEO and founder Amanda Kahlow. "The number one priority for me in building a company is creating a positive culture. By giving our 6sensors the opportunity to be passionate about giving back and making a difference, I truly believe we're creating a new kind of Silicon Valley company."
Since its inception in 2006, Mama Hope has impacted the lives of more than 150,000 people through its education, health, family and food programs across four countries in Africa. Founded by Nyla Rodgers, Mama Hope trains impact entrepreneurs from around the world and partners them with visionary leaders in developing countries to lift their communities out of poverty. For the past three years, the Mama Hope holiday benefit has successfully strengthened connections locally while working to improve the lives of people globally.
"We work to meet the pressing needs of people around the world everyday by building sustainable programs to transform their communities, but the conversation should not end there," said Mama Hope founder Nyla Rodgers. "Our work is not a one-way street in which aid is funneled to those in need. It's a conversation between equals who know that we are, and always will be, better together. Thank you to 6sense for the incredible $10K matching gift; we're thrilled to announce we raised a total of $40,347 at the event."
In September, 6sense announced that it joined Pledge 1%, a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business. Through the Pledge 1% movement, over 500 organizations have committed to philanthropic efforts to improve communities locally and around the world. By pledging 1% of its equity, time and product, 6sense is committed to support nonprofits that focus on developing quantifiable solutions that change the world.
