4TROOPS Release Holiday Single 'I'll Be Home For Christmas' Available November 16
4TROOPS U.S. Tour continues through 2011
NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- 4TROOPS announce the release of their first ever holiday single "I'll Be Home For Christmas" which will be available via all digital providers on November 16th. They chose to record this Christmas classic having personally experienced the pain of being separated from their loved ones while overseas during the holidays and are excited to sing it on their U.S. tour. The members of 4TROOPS are: Former Cpt. Meredith Melcher, Former Sgt. Tony Gentilo, Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Ron Henry and Former Sgt. David Clemo.
"Every time we sing this song, we are reminded of how many fellow soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan will be separated from their families this Christmas – a time when everyone should be together," says 4TROOPS member, Staff Sgt. Retired, Ron Henry, who served in the Armed Forces for over 20 years.
"As the holiday season approaches, we are looking forward to singing this song on tour and we hope that it brings joy and some comfort to military families during this time," says 4TROOPS member, Former Captain Meredith Melcher. This song especially means something to Melcher whose husband, an Iraq war vet, is currently stationed in Afghanistan as a contracted civilian and will be there on Christmas this year.
4TROOPS are United States combat veterans who served on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. While overseas, music played a crucial and very personal role in all of their lives. 4TROOPS now come together for a singular purpose: to sing on behalf of all troops, to honor their sacrifices and to create awareness for their needs. A portion of the proceeds from their CD and concert ticket sales benefits The American Legion, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) and the USO.
