3VR Video Intelligence Management System (VIMS) Focuses on Maximizing Video ROI Across Enterprise
Platform Allows for Deployment of Advanced Security, Marketing and Operational Analytics
ORLANDO, Fla. , Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- 3VR, the video intelligence company, today released the latest version of its Video Intelligence Management System 7 (VIMS 7), several new video analytic solutions for the retail industry and the X-Series enterprise server.
Set for delivery on Sept. 29, VIMS 7 enables users of 3VR's Video Intelligence Platform™ (VIP) appliances to manage large amounts of video across the entire enterprise more efficiently. In addition, the system provides an open architecture for third-party partners to develop new services that quickly and easily integrate video surveillance systems with alarm panel, central station, staffing, merchandising, POS, access control and other business systems.
Increasingly, video surveillance is the primary tool used by organizations in the financial services, retail, healthcare, critical infrastructure and hospitality markets to protect their customers, employees, real estate and reputations on a daily basis. However, too often organizations are forced to cobble together a patchwork of incompatible solutions – DVRs, video management systems, backup and storage, IT monitoring and case management tools -- in order to protect and monitor an entire enterprise.
VIMS 7 provides one comprehensive view that allows users to search and manage all of their video and third-party data -- such as point-of-sale (POS) or access control data -- more efficiently, resulting in reduced investigation times, stronger compliance and better business decisions.
"Video surveillance has proliferated industry and government. However, most organizations only have a limited view of their enterprise, resulting in an inability to centrally manage or mine their video resources for information that would result in enhanced security, operational efficiency or customer service," said Al Shipp, CEO of 3VR. "The latest VIMS release was designed with just one simple concept in mind: Provide a solution that solves enterprise-wide physical security problems today but can also be utilized to provide actionable intelligence for their operations, marketing and merchandizing organizations to maximize the return on their video investments tomorrow."
Key new features of VIMS 7 include:
Enterprise Reporting -- The generalized reporting feature produces tabular reports of any search query against any analytic. Reports are output in various standard formats such as XML, CSV and XLS.
Enterprise Video Viewing – Users can easily view and monitor video from any camera in their enterprise from a single user interface. The VIMS intelligently senses available bandwidth in order to stream video efficiently.
Video Wall – Users can view up to 32 channels of video per monitor and can link multiple monitors together to keep track of hundreds of cameras from across the enterprise in one place at one time.
Metadata Integration – Transaction and point-of-sale (POS) data can be shown in real-time as a layer atop the stored and live video in all 3VR applications. For example, POS data can be streamed in real time over the video from a channel focused on a cash register.
Similarity Rank Order Searching – Displays face and license plate recognition event searches sorted by their similarity rather than chronologically.
Case Management – Allows users to add external files (Word, Excel, CSV) to cases and then include those files when exporting a case.
Enhanced Search – The VIMS 7 patented search capabilities combined with 3VR Smart Storage, which provides a method to define custom retention policies for specific event types, allows users to easily search through years of video data in seconds to investigate cases more efficiently.
3VR VIMS 7 Provides Platform for Revenue-Generating Analytics
With VIMS 7, video investments can now extend well beyond security operations where 3VR's analytics such as object tracking, facial recognition, customer not present and license plate recognition have been widely adopted. 3VR partners and customers now can use a wide range of advanced analytics that mine video for actionable data to make a wide variety of business decisions. Today, 3VR made several video analytic solutions available for the retail industry to include:
Customer Counting: Counts customers to make better decisions on staffing levels and calculate true conversion rates for retail sales performance
Dwell Time Analysis: Provides marketing and merchandising with important information on how promotional displays and end caps perform in your retail organization
Queue Line Analysis: Improve sales and customer support performance by monitoring queue lines against important metrics
"Our focus is not only on making the existing applications for video more efficient, cost effective and successful, but also enabling the development of video-based solutions that will drive ROI across merchandising, operations and customer service," Shipp said. "In today's economy, it is critical that every investment provides broad benefits to the entire business. 3VR analytics turn a customer's security infrastructure into an engine that effectively increases operational efficiency and revenue opportunities."
X-Series Changes Cost to Performance Curve for Appliances
Managing terabytes (TB) of video intelligence across an enterprise requires the power and performance of enterprise class server. 3VR has added the X-Series to its S-Series and P-Series lineup of 3VR VIP appliances. Built on a true enterprise class server and powered by the latest Intel i7 server class processor, the X-Series will support up to 64 cameras, 20 channels of analytics and up to 20 TB of internal storage. The X-Series continues 3VR's tradition of full support, management and maintenance for IP cameras as well as data integrations to business security systems like POS, automated teller machine, access control and central stations.
