3rd Annual Cox Charities Benefit Concert featuring Darius Rucker
Funds Raised Benefit Local Non-Profits
CHESAPEAKE, Va., Aug. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tickets are now on sale for the 3rd Annual Cox Charities Benefit Concert featuring country music star Darius Rucker. The concert will be held on Friday, September 21st at 7:00 pm at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk and tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
All proceeds from the concert will be used by Cox Charities to award grants to qualified non-profit organizations that provide educational programs that further the academic achievement and development of young people through science, technology, mentoring, literacy and other areas promoting youth education. Over the last three years, 19 Hampton Roads area organizations have been awarded grants through Cox Charities including: Arc of the Virginia Peninsula, the Center for Child and Family Services, Children's Harbor, Homes FORKids, Preschool Partners and REACH.

About the Artist:
Darius Rucker gained national recognition as the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish before branching out as a country music star in 2008 with his chart-topping album, Learn to Live. Rucker has since received the Top New Artist award at the 43rd Annual Country Music Awards and has been nominated for ACM, Teen Choice and AMA Awards. Rucker released his second solo album, Charleston, SC 1966, in 2010 and is currently working on a third country album.
