360networks Expands Single Point of Interconnection (SPI) Footprint to 758 New Wire Centers
SPI service now available in 2,194 wire centers in over 30 tier 1 to 4 markets within 19 states
SEATTLE, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- 360networks, a facilities-based wholesale provider of telecommunications services, today announced the expansion of its Single Point of Interconnection (SPI) T1 service to an additional 758 wire centers. New wire centers covered are within the following markets: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento and Stockton, California; Sioux City, Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; Duluth and Rochester, Minnesota, Fargo, North Dakota; and Rapid City, South Dakota. With these additions, 360networks' SPI service now covers 2,194 wire centers in over 30 tier 1 to 4 markets within 19 states.
"We constantly look for new ways to leverage our network to bring value to our customers and their end users," said Lane Granmoe, product director for 360networks. "Our SPI service is a great tool to help our customers grow their business with a proven, reliable, and cost effective technology."
360networks' SPI service efficiently supports lower speed, Clear Channel T1s/DS3s from end-users' LEC demarcation point in support of customers' IP Transit or Local Access needs. SPI works as a centralized hub for connecting Clear Channel Layer 1 T1s and DS3s over single or multiple channelized connections. This single interconnection to 360networks minimizes the need for duplicative T1 circuits to multiple markets by giving customers access to 360networks' wholly owned and operated 18,000 route mile fiber-optic backbone.
