360networks Completes Seattle to Vancouver, BC Expansion
Route provides U.S. and Canadian operators a new alternative to support cross border expansion
SEATTLE, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- 360networks, a facilities-based wholesale provider of telecommunications services, today announced completion of a new route between Seattle and Vancouver, Canada. This new 150 mile route provides the company's wholesale customers access to Everett, Bellingham and Vancouver, BC markets as well as other growth markets based on a customer's specific requirements. Along with Oroville, Washington and Sweet Grass/Cut Bank, Montana, this is 360networks' third point of entry into Canada.
"360networks is dedicated to building out our network in support of our customers' needs," said Steve Cardwell, vice president of sales for 360networks. "Providing high performing and cost effective connectivity into Vancouver is an obvious geographic extension for our customer base."
360networks' services are now available along the route. In addition, when coupled with the company's recently announced Layer 2 Ethernet (L2E) and Virtual Internet Exchange (VIX) services, customers will have the ability to haul traffic from Canada directly to U.S. exchanges. Conversely, U.S. operators now have a new alternative when considering expansion into Canada's west coast.
"360networks continues to reach major metros in the U.S. and now British Columbia, while also going deep into tier 2, 3 and 4 markets to better serve our customers," said Rick Coma, senior vice president for 360networks. "We are committed to maintaining exemplary levels of service as we grow 360networks into one of the nation's premier next generation wholesale providers."
