Pressel, her tireless Morgan Pressel Foundation Committee, St. Andrews Country Club members and LPGA Tour stars Paula Creamer, Juli Inkster, Stacy Lewis, Gerina Piller and Lexi Thompson teamed together to make this year the most successful fund-raiser yet.
The foundation supports Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the newly launched Morgan Pressel Center for Cancer Genetics facility at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Each year the Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer Golf Tournament enjoys significant growth from St. Andrews Country Club member participation, sponsors and donations and this year was no exception.
Pressel said, "Over the past seven years, together with my fellow St. Andrews members and numerous LPGA and PGA stars, we have raised over $3.4 million in the fight against breast cancer. It amazes me when I think of that amount being raised for a charitable cause so close to me and so many others." Pressel went on to add, "I want to thank the Morgan Pressel Foundation committee for their ongoing commitment to creating an outstanding event year after year; to the St. Andrews CC participants and sponsors for their generosity; and to friends Paula, Juli, Stacy, Gerina and Lexi who offered their time and participation to help make this year's event a record fund-raiser."
Bobby Collins, superstar comedian, wrapped up the Sunday evening festivities which included an exclusive cocktail reception, dinner and silent and live auctions. On Monday, winning bidders played 9 holes with an LPGA star and enjoyed exclusive golf clinics hosted by Pressel & her friends, entertaining more than 175 club members with personal anecdotes about their careers.
Craig D. Martin, Chief Operating Officer/General Manager at St. Andrews CC recapped, "Every year this event continues to gain momentum through member participation and sponsorships as a result of the hard work Morgan and her foundation put in to produce a first-class golf tournament and fund-raising effort. The professionalism and five-star logistics executed by the foundation and our professional staff continues to impress me and all those who participate in this exclusive member-only event."
