"The Rolex MBA's Conference & Regatta is a unique experience," says Nicola Riccio, president of the SDA Bocconi Sailing Club 2016. "For us students to organize such a complex event is very formative, allowing us to put into practice what we have studied in our MBA. In addition, we had chance to meet and network with colleagues from 45 different countries: from Argentina to Venezuela, from Egypt to New Zealand, including Sweden, Japan and Turkey."
"This event is one of the excellences of our MBA," says Stefano Gatti, SDA Bocconi MBA Director. "One of the key elements of the Program is to create occasions for networking. To this extent, seeing all the B-Schools participating in the Rolex MBA's Conference & Regatta is particularly important and it's a challenge which creates a real competitive environment among all the different crews."
The final was set amongst the top 8 crews on board J80 boats and the novelty for this edition was that the teams had at their disposal onboard professional counselors, including 7 athletes who participated in the Rio Olympics and the helmsman of the Azzurra boat in the 1983 America's Cup.
This was the final ranking:
1. MIT Sloan School of Management (USA)
2. Columbia Business School (USA)
3. INSEAD (France and Singapore)
4. London Business School (UK)
5. HEC Paris (France)
6. SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy)
7. Sauder School of Business (Canada)
8. Harvard Business School (USA)
The program also included a Conference on Saturday, on the topic 'From Growth to Shock As a Rule: New Challenges and Responsibilities for Future Leaders' with the participation of Carla Furse, Financial Policy Committee, Bank of England, who analyzed the new perspectives of post-Brexit financial markets and Assia Grazioli Venier, professional board member, media strategist and angel investor, who spoke about the increasing value of leadership and the importance of digital communication.
