2x Track & Field Olympian and Financial Consultant to Professional Athletes Engages TransMedia Group

BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group, an international, multilingual PR firm, has announced its contract to provide Public Relations services to Olympic Star Financial. Olympic Star was founded and is led by Jayson Jones, 2x Track & Field Olympian who has chosen to turn his personal background in finance to the task of giving guidance to his fellow athletes on how best to manage their own, sometimes erratic, finances.

Jones has first-hand knowledge of the pitfalls of suddenly receiving large sums of money, and he has seen many athletes reach financial heights only to plummet back down to nothing due to inexperience and mismanagement. "From my own experience, and that of others like me, I have seen the kinds of mistakes many athletes make with their financial future because they lack direction. As someone who has witnessed top athletes fall from grace, I have often felt frustrated and heartbroken…these are individuals who have worked so hard to achieve their goals, but didn't have guidance in keeping the fruits of that labor. All athletes need coaching, and I'm the financial coach for people who haven't had the time to get training for themselves in money management."

Jones goes on to add, "Athletes have to focus on the end, starting right at the beginning. No athletic career lasts forever, and many can be cut short by injuries and other unforeseen circumstances. They need to have an exit strategy prepared from the start, so they aren't left with nothing if circumstances change.
