$25K Women's Enterprise Action Loan Fund (WEALF) VISIONARY AWARD Presented to Entrepreneur Kerri Quigley, The Fashion Place
NEW YORK, March 27, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- At a virtual presentation Wednesday evening Kerri Quiqley, The Fashion Place, https://thefashionclass.com/ was awarded the $25K Visionary Prize. Ms. Quigley was selected by the judges from among four finalists in the WEALF program for women entrepreneurs. The award was designated for the business owner who could best envision the accelerated growth of her business with an additional $25K investment. Each applicant was required to submit a detailed feasibility plan with accompanying financial and marketing support.
The finalists, Autumn Adeigbo, https://autumnadeigbo.com/; Annabelle Santos https://spadet.com/; and Grace Tappin, https://www.movewithgrace.com/; each received a $2,500 award. The judges, distinguished business leader, were Yanki Tshering, founder, Business Center for New Americans; Jill Johnson, CEO, Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership: Lorine Pendleton, Portfolia Rising America Fund; Kathryn Swintek, Managing Partner, Golden Seeds; Denise Kellen WEALF Board member, and Sybil Wailand, Managing Partner, Consumer Dynamics.

The prize is a vote of confidence and salute to the astonishing strength of our women entrepreneurs who turn their business dreams into reality despite tremendous odds. In their remarks, each of the four finalists described her strategy for managing during the CV-19 crisis.
WEALF began in 2013 as a non-profit alternative financing source for New York City women business founders who had neither the collateral nor the guarantor necessary for traditional loans. WEALF no-interest loans are coupled with individual mentoring. Experienced women mentors offer encouragement, advice, and direction to other resources required to spark business growth and to support these women become creditworthy and financially self-sufficient. To date, WEALF has provided approximately $480,000 in loans to over 50 businesses. It has an enviable 95 percent payback rate.
WEALF looks beyond zip codes, nationality, and age in determining loan eligibility. "Our women share an unrelenting determination to succeed," Ms. Weiner said.
