2101 Records Appoints Ray De La Garza As New General Manager
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 2101 Records Chairman/CEO RedOne announced today that Ray De La Garza has been named the label's new General Manager. De La Garza was formerly Vice President of Programming at Radio Disney, The Walt Disney Company, and brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his new role as General Manager.
Mr. De La Garza, who will report to Chairman/CEO RedOne, will oversee the day to day operations of Promotion Marketing, Publicity, Sales, Branding and A&R departments for 2101 Records, and will work alongside RedOne liaising with the label's partner, Universal Music International. De La Garza will be based in Hollywood at the company's headquarters on the iconic Henson Lot, formally A&M Records.
2101 Records, a joint venture with Universal Music International, has experienced tremendous growth since its inception in 2010. The label earned its first U.S. Platinum® selling single with Havana Brown's, "We Run The Night" feat. Pitbull in September 2012 (2101/Republic), as well as four consecutive hit singles with their debut Artist Mohombi, who hit #1 in 14 countries throughout Europe and Asia, including Japan – Mohombi's USA release on 2101/Cash Money coming soon.

De La Garza began his tenure in the music industry in 1983 at KIIS FM, and in 1989 he was Paula Abdul's first road manager. He co-owned dance label Envious Records, and worked at ABC Radio Networks, Premiere Radio Networks/Clear Channel and RadioVisa in positions as Vice President of Programming, Senior Vice President of Programming, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. While at Premiere Radio Networks, De La Garza was directly in charge of The Jim Rome Show, Rick Dees Weekly Top 40, Rick Dees in the Morning, Hollywood Confidential with Leeza Gibbons and created Fox Sports Radio Network and Carson Daly Most Requested. For the past five years, De La Garza has served as Vice President of Programming at Radio Disney, The Walt Disney Company.
