2019 Must Know Information for EPA's WIFIA Loan Program
THE FERGUSON GROUP, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS, AND ECIVIS HOSTS WEBINAR
WASHINGTON, May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Pinellas County Utilities and Silicon Valley Clean Water will headline a webinar panel discussion on the benefits of EPA's Water Infrastructure Financing and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program and tips for successfully competing in the upcoming WIFIA selection process.
"Federally backed financing programs, like WIFIA, can generate annual debt service savings of 20 percent or more for most water project sponsors," said Roger Gwinn, CEO of The Ferguson Group, a bipartisan government relations consulting firm hosting the webinar with the National Association of County Administrators and eCivis, the nation's top SaaS grant management and cost allocation software solution provider.
Registration for the webinar can be found here, and the featured speakers include: Arielle Gerstein, WIFIA Program Manager for the US EPA; Matt Anderson, Chief Financial Officer for Silicon Valley Clean Water; Megan Ross, Utilities Director for Pinellas County, FL; and Lori Sullivan, Financial Management and Budget Analyst for Pinellas County, FL.
The WIFIA loan program provides long-term, low-cost, supplemental credit assistance under customized terms to creditworthy water and wastewater projects of national and regional significance. In the FY 2018 WIFIA program solicitation, 39 projects in 16 states and the District of Columbia were selected. Approximately $5 billion in financing was approved to help accelerate construction on over $10 billion in water infrastructure projects.
The free one-hour webinar will provide information on how to submit a WIFIA Letter of Interest, how EPA will select projects for this funding round, and offer helpful hints on how to prepare a winning WIFIA loan application. Participants will be able to hear directly from program administrators as well as loan awardees. There will be an emphasis on how you can get ready now for the July 2019 WIFIA Letter of Interest submission deadline.
