2018 Maternal Mental Health Innovation Awards Submissions Open
Hospitals, Insurers, Clinics and others are encouraged to submit how they are helping the 1 in 5 women who suffer from disorders like postpartum depression.
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- 2020 Mom and Marce of North America announce the opening of the submission process for the second annual Maternal Mental Health (MMH) Innovation Awards Program. These competitive awards are designed to recognize impactful programs which improve outcomes for the 1 in 5 women suffering from these disorders, and designed to help others learn of and model their own programs after these best-practices.
The program again will give awards in the following three categories:
1. Innovative Programs in Care – Care models (both clinical and non-clinical) with strong outcomes for addressing maternal mental health and lend themselves to broader adoption. Though the program category is open to any program of care, in 2018, clinical offices and institutions are encouraged to apply. For example,Ob/Gyns or hospitals that have developed training and tools for staff to detect and effectively treat, refer and track outcomes. Or a health insurer that has developed a maternal mental health telepsychiatry program for to support providers in detection and treatment.
2. Innovative Community Solutions – Leadership, communication, and broad community engagement that brings focus to maternal mental health. Though this category is open to any applicant, in 2018 hospitals or departments of public or mental health who have run community coalitions or campaigns, and employers who are addressing maternal mental health in a novel way are encouraged to apply.
3. Innovation in Policy and Advocacy – National, state or local legislative or regulatory advocacy efforts with impactful results stemming from passage and/or implementation. In 2018 applications individual as well as from organizations are being accepted.
Winners will Receive
A winner and an honorable mention will be selected in each category. All winners will receive one all-expense paid trip to the Postpartum Support International conference June 13-15, 2018 in Houston, TX. Winners will also receive $3000 and honorable mentions a $1000 prize.
