LAS VEGAS, Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Advantage 2017 – Sage Intacct, the innovation and customer satisfaction leader in cloud financial management software, today announced the winners of its 2017 Sage Intacct Customer Success Awards during the keynote of Advantage 2017, taking place this week in Las Vegas. Rob Reid, EVP and Managing Director of Sage Intacct, presented this year's Customer Success Awards to six organizations: DFO, Legacy Healthcare Services, Meals on Wheels America, Publisher Circulation Fulfillment, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, and Workiva.
Collectively, these award winners have used Sage Intacct to deliver incredible benefits to their business, such as: increasing efficiency by as much as 60%, eliminating hundreds of hours of manual work on reporting and consolidations, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in reduced staffing needs, and achieving a 5X return on investment. In addition, Sage Intacct helped these organizations transform their finance teams to take a leadership role in delivering the financial and operational insights needed for strategic business decision making.
"When organizations choose to implement Sage Intacct's cloud financial management software, we don't simply view them as another customer. We view the relationship as a long-term, strategic partnership, where we spend the time to understand their business needs and work with them to grow their business," said Reid. "To have the opportunity to play a part in the ongoing success for each of these companies is an honor and privilege. These six companies have achieved outstanding results with Sage Intacct and we look forward to working with them to scale to even greater heights in the coming years."
The Sage Intacct Customer Success Awards recognize organizations that use Sage Intacct to improve both business and financial operations, as well as grow their bottom line. Sage Intacct received a record number of entries, and the six award winners announced today were selected following a thorough evaluation of each candidate's business impact.
Here is a closer look at the results achieved by this year's award winners:
DFO
DFO is a family office for a high net worth individual, including both the management of current endeavors and long-term wealth planning. Prior to Sage Intacct, DFO struggled with segregated financial information spread across more than 80 entities, each using separate instances of QuickBooks. This made ad hoc reporting requests time consuming and labor intensive, and any consolidated reporting involved lengthy manual processes. DFO worked with CrossCountry Consulting to move its financials to the cloud with Sage Intacct to gain a comprehensive solution that offers streamlined access to information.
Key results with Sage Intacct include:
- Able to consolidate 80+ entities in minutes rather than days/weeks
- Cut invoice processing costs by more than $250 per invoice
- Reduced time for transaction entry by 50%
- Dimensional analytics by project/department/initiative enable reporting in ways never before possible
- Empowered accounting team to partner with the business and provide value-added financial leadership
"At DFO we leverage Sage Intacct from the beginning to the end of our financial processes," said Janet Welch, Chief Financial Officer at DFO. "Prior to Sage Intacct, answering questions like 'when was last time you paid a vendor?' would take over two weeks. Now I have all of my information in one system and one consolidated general ledger that's available at the click of a button. We spend less time gathering data and more time doing analysis to help drive better decisions for the business."
Legacy Healthcare Services
Legacy Healthcare Services provides senior care at more than 250 outpatient clinics across 11 states and Washington, D.C. Legacy Healthcare worked with Massey Consulting to replace its on-premises Microsoft Dynamics GP financial system with Sage Intacct. Previously, simple tasks like generating MICR check printing, ACH payments to vendors, and attaching documents to transactions were not possible, required a third-party solution, or needed very time-consuming and manual work-arounds. Legacy Healthcare was also producing nearly 300 different financial reports each month – mostly in Excel or by hand. With Sage Intacct, Legacy has streamlined processes, while simplifying reporting and gaining deeper insights into the business.
Key results with Sage Intacct include:
- Return on investment of 410%
- 60% reduction in month-end close time
- 2X faster planning-to-actuals process
- Production of financial reports in minutes, not days
- Deeper insights with dynamic benchmark reporting that monitors trends across facilities
"Sage Intacct makes our finance team smarter, faster, more accurate, and we can confidently handle our projected growth rate of 30-40%," commented Jay Huffman, CFO at Legacy Healthcare. "The biggest process improvement that we have seen with Sage Intacct is the month-end close. We are able to close in four days, a process that previously took 10 days. From a time and cost savings, I can conservatively say that we've gotten our investment back five times over in terms of actual hard cost savings – that's invaluable to me as a CFO."
Meals on Wheels America
Meals on Wheels America is the largest national association representing senior nutrition programs across the country. Meals on Wheels was previously using QuickBooks but was very limited by the system's grant management capabilities. Tracking of restricted grant funds was very labor intensive, as funds had to be tracked outside the financial system in Excel and then reconciled to the general ledger on a monthly basis. Meals on Wheels switched to Sage Intacct with the help of Raffa, enabling the finance team to streamline and automate grant fund tracking, as well as several other business processes.
Key results with Sage Intacct include:
- Shortened month-end close time by one-third
- Estimated 3X-4X improvement in forecasting process time and accuracy
- 60% reduction in field work for audit preparation
- Doubled revenue since 2013 with only 25% increase in finance team staffing
"The ability to integrate Sage Intacct with other systems that we currently use was a game changer for our close process and allowed us to automate steps and shave a full week off our monthly close," said Don Miller, CFO at Meals on Wheels America. "We've also improved real-time visibility into our performance. We're now course correcting all the time and we're only able to do that because of the fact that we're on Sage Intacct. We've grown nearly 20% every year since 2013, and the complexity of our business has increased as well. Fortunately, Sage Intacct has supported this growth in the solutions' ability to easily scale without forcing us to add headcount. We've saved at least one full-time employee and more than covered our investment in the software."
Publishers Circulation Fulfillment (PCF)
PCF has provided distribution solutions to the print media industry for more than 30 years and recently began expanding into logistics. Previously, PCF was spending tens of thousands of dollars per month to host and maintain an on-premises SAP system that was overly customized, outdated, and cumbersome. Customer invoices, which needed to be compiled and generated weekly, required a considerable amount of manual manipulation. PCF worked with Compudata to switch to cloud financial management from Sage Intacct, which helped them streamline processes and improved business insights.
Key results with Sage Intacct include:
- Decreased client billing/invoicing time by 50%
- More than 20% improvement in staff efficiency
- Shortened month-end close process by 20%
- Saving hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly versus previous solution
"Sage Intacct has helped us streamline our business process including functional AR and client billing – we've basically cut that processing time in half. In our close process we're able to pull reports quickly and get information in a few seconds," said Jerry Hosza, Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting at PCF. "Our business changes very quickly and our profit margins are very susceptible to changes, so we have to be on top of everything. With our previous system, it would take an hour to run a report before we could do anything else in the system. Now we have data in real-time at our fingertips, so we can focus our efforts on analyzing that data and making more accurate forecasts for the next month or even the next year."
Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland
The Roman Catholic Diocese provides ministry throughout the state of Maine, with 108 entities including parishes, schools, cemeteries, the Catholic Foundation of Maine, and much more. Prior to Sage Intacct, the chancery offices were on one solution and all the parishes, schools, and cemeteries were all on a different solution – leading to struggles around financial transparency, consolidated reporting, and highly manual processes.
Key results with Sage Intacct include:
- Able to consolidate financials for 100+ entities with the click of a button anytime, versus only once a year
- Saved hundreds of hours of work and increased staff efficiency by 25%
- Leveraged GL dimensions to manage fund restrictions, resulting in 10% reduction in audit risk and complexity
- Used statistical accounts to track electricity and fuel consumption, enabling a 30% savings in fuel and electricity costs due to volume pricing
- 10X faster report creation leading to improved decision making
"Since implementing Sage Intacct I personally am saving at least four hours a month on generating financial reports. Sage Intacct has also helped us strengthen our internal controls, especially at the parish level," said Laurie Downey, Controller for the Diocese of Portland. "We have so much more visibility into the financial data since switching to Sage Intacct, especially when we are reviewing parish data. Sage Intacct dimensions are life-changing. There isn't anything you can't look at and report on. And with our old solution, consolidation was very time-consuming. Now we're able to consolidate whenever we want, and drill down and look at the data from all our different entities a lot more efficiently than we ever could before."
Workiva
Workiva is a leading cloud platform for reporting, compliance, and data management. Workiva is used by more than 2,800 organizations, including over 70% of the Fortune 500*. Since switching to Sage Intacct in 2010, Workiva has grown from a small start-up to an international public company that delivers its Wdesk platform to modernize how people work.
Key results with Sage Intacct include:
- Shortened month-end close process by more than 50%
- Gained $500k in value from faster quote-to-cash process and improved efficiency
- Improved decision-making from real-time consolidation
- Decreased compliance risk, while increasing finance team efficiency
"The real time consolidation functionality has allowed our FP&A group to see our financial position at any time during the month and make more strategic decisions," commented Adam Buchholz, VP and Corporate Controller at Workiva. "The new ASC 606 revenue recognition standard has been one of the biggest changes we've seen in accounting in a very long time. Controls need to change and our processes need to change. By using Sage Intacct, we're able to deep dive into an individual contract line and the associated details – whether that's the revenue status, the AR status or the contract asset status of that line – and dig into that detail with precision."
"Sage Intacct helps us have better visibility into our financial data by offering different ways for us to cut the information using dimensions. We can record expenses in many different ways, we can record revenues in different ways, and we can use the data from Sage Intacct and our other systems to drive our business and help us understand where we might need to pivot and make changes," added Jill Klindt, SVP and Chief Accounting Officer at Workiva. "I think the biggest benefit that Sage Intacct provides to Workiva is the flexibility of the system offerings. The fact that we have been able to continue to grow with Sage Intacct, including adding on multiple layers of functionality and taking the company public, and we still have been able to stay in the same system that has grown with us. That's a huge benefit."
