NEW YORK, July 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the seventh year in a row, Ropes & Gray was ranked in the top five U.S. law firms for overall diversity in the 2016 Vault guide released July 21.
The firm, which ranked #3 for overall diversity, also ranked in the top five in each of the diversity-related categories, including:
- #2 LGBT
- #3 individuals with disabilities
- #3 women
- #4 military veterans
- #5 minorities
The Vault diversity rankings follow on the heels of Ropes & Gray's #1 ranking for firm culture announced last week. The Ropes & Gray culture —centered on the utmost collegiality among attorneys and staff; a common commitment to excellence in client service; mutual trust and respect; and a diverse and inclusive workforce —is a hallmark of the firm.
"At Ropes & Gray, we value diversity and inclusion at all levels, so that we can attract and retain the best diverse talent and provide our clients with the highest level of service," said partner and diversity committee co-chair Leslie Spencer. "Diversity has long been an essential part of our firm identity."
Ropes & Gray also received high rankings from Vault last week in several other quality of life categories, including a #2 ranking for "Best Law Firm to Work For," which marked the seventh straight year of a top-two ranking in this defining category. The firm earned the top spot for formal training for the fifth consecutive year.
"We are pleased to receive this recognition by Vault, but we know that increasing the diversity of our workforce must be an ongoing priority for the firm," said Joshua Levy, partner and diversity committee co-chair. "We're dedicated to making Ropes & Gray a welcoming environment for all."
More than 17,000 associates at U.S. firms participate in the survey that serves as the basis for the Vault rankings, assessing firms on factors including job satisfaction and training and development.
