2016 Most Affordable Online RN to BSN Program Ranking Released by TopRNtoBSN.com
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Top RN to BSN (www.toprntobsn.com), a leading nursing school search resource, has published its 2016 ranking of the most affordable online RN to BSN programs in the United States: http://www.toprntobsn.com/rankings/most-affordable-online-rn-to-bsn-programs-2016/
The ranking includes only fully accredited schools that offer an online RN to BSN program. Programs were compared based on tuition for students taking only the core nursing classes, tuition for those taking nursing classes and the general education requirements, and the 'net cost' (average cost of tuition and fees minus financial aid) as determined by the U.S. Department of Education. The three scores (converted to 'z-scores' for the purposes of comparison) were then averaged. Published tuition rates for each school were derived from the National Center for Education Statistics.
Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC ranked first with West Texas A&M University, Canyon, TX, and the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, Fort Smith, AR following in second and third places respectively. For students who need just the core nursing classes, the most expensive school ranked is around $12,000, and the least expensive is below $4,000.
