2016 Made By Milk Contest Launches with Milk Carton "Inventions" Theme
Evergreen Packaging's® national carton construction contest to award schools nearly $20,000 in prizes
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Aug. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Evergreen Packaging announced the launch of the Fall 2016 Made By Milk™ Carton Construction Contest. This year's theme - "Inventions"- invites students to build milk carton creations inspired by advances in industry, travel, science, education, technology, medicine, entertainment and beyond – or even create their own unique invention out of repurposed cartons. Classroom teams can win up to $5,000 by building creations inspired by notable inventions from empty milk or juice cartons, saved from their school lunches. The deadline for submissions is November 16, 2016.
"The Made By Milk™ Contest is a one-of-a-kind program designed to help students of all ages tap into creative and artistic skills while building awareness of environmental issues and the importance of repurposing and recycling," said Katie Simmons, marketing manager at Evergreen Packaging. "We're excited to see how students will be inspired by this year's Made by Milk™ theme – inventions – to build carton creations based on their favorite inventions or brainstorm their very own ground-breaking invention to showcase in their entries."
Students in grades K–12 are eligible to compete in the Made By Milk™ contest. To enter, classroom teams collect empty milk or juice cartons to use in their carton creations and write a 200-word essay about what makes their project unique. In addition to the Grand Prize winner ($5,000) and People's Choice award ($2,500), there are awards for creations using less than 300 cartons, and creations using more than 300 cartons. The complete prize structure is below:
