2016 China Information Technology Expo Highlights Internet of Things as 'Next Big Thing'
For the first time, CITE establishes dedicated area for 'Sensors and IoT'

SHENZHEN, China, April 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Asia's largest Integrated Electronic Information Industry Exhibition, China Information Technology Expo (CITE), will make the Internet of things (IoT) the focal point of this year's show, which will be held in Shenzhen, China from April 8-10.
CITE has, for the first time, allocated an area specifically dedicated to "Sensors and the Internet of Things", which is designed to bring together sensors and chips for industrial applications and consumer electronics, as well as biomedical, agricultural, and automotive electronics applications.
The show will host an IoT and Sensors forum, focusing on the latest technical achievements in the global sensor industry, and examining the future development strategy in the application field of sensors and IoT.
"The Internet of Things is integrated within almost all industries, from automotive and home appliances, to wearable devices and energy," said Mr. Chen Wenhai, secretary general of the CITE organizing committee. "Following on from computers, the Internet and portable devices, this is expected to be the next high growth sector."
Data shows that in 2015, China's IoT market capital reached USD$750 billion, with the country's IoT Research and Development Center predicting that the compound growth rate will hit 30%.
Among the companies featured in the IoT Zone is voice technology provider Ai Speech China, whose latest integrated solutions for hardware and software provide intelligent vehicles and mobile app developers with on-cloud or local speech interaction technology. Ai Speech China's products include intelligent robots and automotive and household appliances, used in VST's smart rearview mirror, Haier's intelligent refrigerator and MITV's voice-activated remote control, all of which will be unveiled at the expo.
Other industry leaders such as Tencent, TCL, Hisense, Changhong and LeTV will also be in attendance.
