2014 Michigan Private Equity Conference Set for This Week
Kevyn Orr, Ken Buckfire and T. Bondurant (Bon) French to Deliver Keynote Addresses
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and its Center for Venture Capital and Private Equity Finance at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business will hold its ninth annual Michigan Private Equity Conference this Friday, Oct. 17.
What: The 'boutique' conference will cover key issues impacting today's private equity climate. Panel discussions will address emerging trends in limited partners' investment strategies and the current regulatory environment. The conference will also provide great networking and learning opportunities for companies and investors alike.
Who: In attendance will be more than 200 private equity, investment banking and business professionals from across the greater Midwest and from the University of Michigan alumni community. The conference will feature high-profile keynote speakers:
- Kevyn Orr, Detroit's emergency manager, and Ken Buckfire, president, managing director and co-founder of Miller Buckfire – From their unique, insiders' position within Detroit's restructuring efforts following its historic Chapter 9 bankruptcy, Orr and Buckfire will speak to where the city stands with it and the outlook for investment potential in post-bankruptcy Detroit.
- T. Bondurant (Bon) French, CEO, Adams Street Partners – Head of one of the largest managers of private equity for institutional investors, which manages more than $22 billion of committed capital, French will discuss the issues, pressures and changes in the global PE market.

When: The conference will take place Friday, Oct. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pre-conference events start on Thursday, Oct. 16 and include a golf outing at the U-M Radrick Farms golf course as well as a tour of the U-M Big House and a dinner reception at the Campus Inn for all conference registrants.
