"Yesterday and Today" Beatles' 50th Anniversary Celebration on February 11th in Washington DC
BALTIMORE, Feb. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As you're probably aware, by the end of 2014, the last of the Baby Boomers will turn 50 and AARP is declaring it the year of the Boomers! We'd love to work with you on a segment timed to a great local hook: the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' first concert in the US (Feb 11th) being held in Washington DC! AARP is the social media sponsor for the tribute/anniversary concert planned at the ULINE ARENA on Feb. 11th and can even throw in a pair of tickets to giveaway to your viewers. We'd love to have AARP's Barbara Hannah Grufferman interviewed about why this is such a big year for the Boomers, encourage folks to go out to the concert and also touch on The Beatles' pivotal role in the soundtrack of American life for the Baby Boomer generation. We may also be able to get you Tommy Roe, who was the opening act for the original concert 50 years ago at Washington Coliseum (and he'll be performing again at the tribute concert); as well as Mike Mitchell, who was 18 years old and snagged a press pass to photograph the concert (his black and white images of the concert have become iconic and will be a part of the concert exhibition and a couple are included with this release).
Would love to hear your thoughts on moving forward with this and discuss potential date and times for an interview. Please contact me if this is of interest.
