2013 Ford Fusion Launches with Emphasis on Customer Preference
Completely Customizable Configurator Lights the Digital Path
CINCINNATI, May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Ford recently launched the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion with a strong emphasis on customer feedback and customizable features. It is no doubt that the new Fusion has already started to turn heads - it recently won the Gene Ritvo Award for Design and Elegance. The hype is not only limited to the look of the model though, the performance features are causing quite a stir at local Ford dealers in Cincinnati.

Mike Castrucci of Alexandria was recently given the chance to check out the new Fusion configurator on Ford's website. In a effort to keep the hype on the new Fusion moving upward, Ford launched the special platform immediately following the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The configurator allows online shoppers the chance to select from an array of paint, trims, engines and options to see just how their new Fusion will look once the vehicle goes on sale this fall.
The only thing that you won't find in the online service is the price, however. Ford has yet to release the official pricing for the 2013 Fusion, but shoppers can expect to see a modest increase over the previous model's $21,500 starting price. This is not all bad though, according to Ford, because the original 3.0-liter and 3.5-liter V6 engines are being replaced by two turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engines - the smaller 1.6-liter EcoBoost is expected to generate 179 horsepower, while the larger 2.0-liter EcoBoost will put down 237 horsepower.
Ford has also provided the option to include the Fusion SE Hybrid in the configurator. Customers can select all of the amenities of the SE trim level with a 2.0-liter I-4 paired to an electric motor. The only trim level that cannot be found is the Fusion Hybrid electric model that is not supposed to go on sale until early 2013.
Overall, nine different exterior colors are offered with the 2013 Ford Fusion. Some upgrades from the 2012 Fusion in Cincinnati will include the MyFord Touch entertainment center, backup camera, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, navigation, active parking assist and adaptive cruise control.
The 2013 Ford Fusion is scheduled to arrive at Mike Castrucci of Alexandria this fall and with it will come a flurry of requests for custom trim levels. To build your custom Fusion, check out www.mikecastruccialexandria.com or call (877) 558-5487.
