The 2011 Esri Homeland Security Summit is designed specifically for homeland security and public safety professionals. The goal is to help attendees understand how GIS and related technologies assist homeland security professionals to meet their missions and bridge the gap between finite resources and ever-increasing expectations. Attendees will discover best practices and proven strategies from actual technology users. Panel discussions, user presentations, and high-tech demos will feature the latest innovations that are specifically tailored to the public safety industry.
This year's summit features two new tracks, one executive and one technical. They cater to both senior-level decision makers and front-line GIS practitioners. In addition, Lightning Talks will be given by homeland security professionals and Esri partners. These specialized sessions will provide firsthand knowledge that attendees can take back to their organizations to achieve success. In addition, specialized focus will be provided on the deployment allocation and optimization of resources to achieve a return on investment (ROI).
Since the Homeland Security Summit is held just prior to the Esri International User Conference (Esri UC), there will be an additional opportunity to attend the Esri UC plenary on Monday, July 11, and the Public Safety Showcase and Exhibit Hall on Tuesday, July 12. The showcase features Esri's leading industry partners and public safety organizations. The ever-popular Operation SafetyNet demo area will once again feature effective GIS deployments for the four public safety workflow patterns—data management, planning and analysis, field mobility, and situational awareness.
