2011 Cadillac Escalade No. 1 in Segment in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
DETROIT, June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cadillac brand is now ranked among the top 10 in the industry for initial quality (ranking 9th overall), with the Escalade topping the large premium crossover/SUV segment, according to the 2011 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study(SM). Escalade is the highest-performing vehicle in its segment for the second consecutive year.
"Escalade's highest-in-segment leadership showcases Cadillac's commitment to our customers," said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac Marketing. "We're now focused on continuing and expanding our brand's quality improvement in every segment in which we compete."
The 2011 IQS is based on responses from more than 73,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2011 model year vehicles surveyed after 90 days of ownership. The study includes a 228-question survey designed to provide manufacturers with information they can use to quickly identify problems and drive improvement.
Cadillac continues to gain momentum in the market, registering 16 consecutive months of year-to-year retail sales increases in the U.S. Cadillac's marketplace gains have been driven by consistently strong demand for the Escalade line of luxury SUVs, the CTS family of luxury cars and the SRX crossover.
