2010 Michigan Downtown Conference Partners Seek Michigan Artist to Design Awards
LANSING, Mich. April 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Michigan Downtown Conference Partners announced today they are seeking Michigan-based artists to design the 2010 Michigan Downtown Conference awards. The Conference is September 13-14, at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Bay City.
This year's theme is "Michigan's Downtowns: Yes, We're Open!" In keeping with the theme, the Conference Awards Committee is seeking exceptional, hand-crafted, Michigan-made awards to present at the conference awards ceremony.
According to Kelly Larson, Main Street Architect in the State Historic Preservation Office at the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), "We are looking for a Michigan-based artist to craft awards that will reflect the positive image and vibrancy of our downtowns."

The Michigan Downtown Conference Partners include the Michigan Downtown Association (MDA), the Michigan Municipal League (MML), Michigan Main Street Center @ MSHDA, the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM), the Michigan Historic Preservation Network, Main Street Oakland County and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).
The Michigan Downtown Conference is an annual conference to help community leaders create successful strategies and case studies to revitalize their downtowns.
