2010 Census Luda on the Block Tour in Atlanta
Ludacris takes low response rate in hometown personally
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Ludacris' final stop on the 2010 Census Luda on the Block tour and webisode series took on a personal note. ATL is the home to the rapper/actor and his business venture DTP Records.
"My daughter is 8 years old now," says Ludacris. " When the next Census comes around she will be 18. I want her to grow up in the best environment possible.
"Our schools have to provide quality training to create new leaders. There is such a great need here in ATL. We are in need of all resources that the $400B in federal funding provides nationally each year. I joked on a earlier webisode about my rims, well if for that point alone, I know a lot more people in this town can hear me on that—the potholes have to go; and yes, the Census covers that too. Seniors need to live in secure housing. Emergency services must have ongoing maintenance and updates. I am taking it personally because it affects me, my family and the city I call home."
If you didn't fill out and mail back your Census form, then a qualified Census taker will visit your home to ensure that your voice is represented. Census takers are easily identified by their badges and all responses are confidential. Remember, only you can help ensure better services for your community.
