2009 Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees to Keynote Largest Gathering of Physical Educators in 2011

RESTON, Va., Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Drew Brees, co-chair of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition, 2009 Super Bowl MVP-winning quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, and Sports Illustrated's 2010 Sportsman of the Year, will keynote the General Session of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) at the 2011 AAHPERD National Convention & Exposition in San Diego, CA on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Over 5,000 physical education teachers, coaches, and physical activity professionals are expected to attend the 126th National Convention and Exposition of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), March 29 to April 2, 2011. Additional speakers include Dr. Jack Groppel, co-founder of the Human Performance Institute and internationally recognized author and speaker;  John Ratey, MD, Harvard Medical School psychiatrist and bestselling author of Spark!; and Lula Washington, Avatar choreographer.

Today, Brees was named Sports Illustrated's 2010 Sportsman of the Year.

As much pride as Brees takes in his on field performance, he takes even more pride in his community service endeavors. Drew and his wife, Brittany, established the Brees Dream Foundation in 2003 and since then have raised and/or committed over $6 million to help advance cancer research and rebuild schools, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields in New Orleans, San Diego, and Purdue/West Lafayette, IN communities.
