2,894-Acre Smith Ranch, Listed at $42 Million, Sells Near Austin

One of the largest Texas Hill Country ranches offered near Austin went from listing to closing in under six months.

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Smith Ranch, a 2,894-acre Texas Hill Country ranch listed at $42 million, has sold after less than six months on the market. TX Real Estate represented the seller in the transaction. The final sales price was not disclosed.

Spanning Lampasas and Burnet counties roughly 75 minutes from Downtown Austin, Smith Ranch was the largest ranch for sale within 75 minutes of Austin when it entered the market.

The property had been under the same ownership for more than 20 years and was developed into a highly improved, turnkey hunting, fishing, wildlife, and recreational ranch.

Among its most notable features are two large private lakes of approximately 8 and 12 acres, 13 clay-lined ponds, and more than 12 miles of creeks. The lakes offer trophy bass fishing and waterfowl habitat, including a custom duck blind and a sandy beach and picnic area.

The fully high-fenced ranch supports trophy whitetail and an extensive collection of exotic wildlife, including kudu, axis, blackbuck, gemsbok, fallow deer, aoudad, oryx, zebra, the ranch's own breed of ram, and more.
