LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Harold Court, a 14-unit independent living facility for adults with physical and developmental disabilities, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 1407 Charlotte Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas. The media is encouraged to attend.
The $1.7M project, spearheaded by community-based organization, Easter Seals, was funded in part by a HUD Section 811 grant. In addition, Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and Bank of the Ozarks awarded Easter Seals $98,000 in Affordable Housing Program (AHP) funds to complete the project, which assisted with the purchase of necessary amenities such as sprinkler systems, fences, and additional fencing.
AHP grants are available annually through FHLB Dallas member institutions to assist in the development of affordable owner-occupied and rental housing for very low- to moderate-income households located across FHLB Dallas' five-state District of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas. In 2015, FHLB Dallas awarded $7.4 million in AHP grants to 32 projects that will result in 965 new or renovated housing units.
