13th Annual Pittsburgh Wine Festival Hosts Local Pittsburgh Wineries
PITTSBURGH, April 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 13th annual Pittsburgh Wine Festival is returning to Heinz Field on May 7, 2015. The event will once again give attendees the opportunity to sample some of the world's very best wines and provide a chance to meet and talk with some of the world's foremost authorities on wine.
In addition to the wide variety of international and other domestic wines that will be available, a selection of local Pittsburgh wineries will be on hand. Familiar faces such as the Pittsburgh Winery, Narcisi Winery, and relative newcomer, Bridges Wine Co, will be sampling at the event.
Pittsburgh Winery founder Tim Gaber, who has been making wine for nearly 15 years, recently moved his location to the Strip District. He is proud to be a member of the ever growing Pittsburgh wine community. "Pittsburgh is a very up and coming area for wine. More and more people are becoming interested and more local wineries are coming to the area," says Gaber. "It's great to see. Pittsburgh is especially great because all of the wine and spirit makers in the area really support each other and each other's businesses."
Opened in 2014, Bridges Wine Co. founder James McCeney, who made wines in California before bringing his passion for wines to Pittsburgh, is excited to showcase some of his wines at this year's festival. "I love being able to do events like this. I love just being able to talk to people about wine," says McCeney. "I'm constantly learning from others. That's just the nature of these kinds of tastings."
The 2015 Festival will be held at Heinz Field East and West Club lounges on May 7, 2015. The VIP tasting runs from 5 pm – 7 pm, and the Grand Tasting runs from 7 pm – 9 pm. In addition to sampling Pittsburgh made wines and a wide variety of wines from all over the globe, attendees can also learn about different types of wine and winemaking, all while enjoying delicious gourmet fare.
