11-Year-Old Rock Sensations Cut First Album With Legendary Producer Ron Nevison
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Twin brothers, Vittorio and Vincenzo just turned 11, but if you sit in on one of their rehearsals, close your eyes and listen to any of their numerous, original rock anthems, you will think you are in the presence of seasoned professionals, not kids who just started playing a few years ago.
That was exactly the impression of legendary record producer Ron Nevison, http://www.ronnevison.com/ when he stopped by Rock Star University's HOUSE OF ROCK last month to witness a V2 rehearsal. Nevison has engineered and produced music for over four decades including multi-platinum albums for Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, The Who, Heart, Chicago, Damn Yankees, KISS, Night Ranger and many more so he knows real talent when he sees and hears it. After Ron witnessed just two V2 songs, Long Live Rock N Roll and I Like Doing This the Best, he was sold, and immediately offered to produce their first studio album.
When asked to compare V2 to other bands he has worked with in the past, Ron Nevison stated, "Because of their age, there really is no comparison. Vittorio and Vincenzo perform like they are from another century. None of the other bands I have worked with were ever performing at this level at such a young age. Vincenzo plays the drums like a pro while singing, which is extremely difficult to pull off, but he does it effortlessly. Vittorio already has that rare and unique relationship with his guitar that I have seen in the great rock guitarists I have worked with in the past. These boys are extremely special and I see a bright future for them. I'm very excited to have been introduced to them and to be producing their first studio album."
Industry veteran Johnny Vieira, who specializes in creating young stars (Vanessa Hudgens, Cierra Ramirez, Breanna Kennedy and others...) was equally impressed when he discovered the twins in the San Francisco Bay Area. "I was blown away the first time I watched them perform. These kids are the real deal. Great musicians and live performers with a 20 song repertoire that includes 14 original songs that really rock. You just don't see that breath of song writing and live performance talent in kids so young. I immediately thought Ron Nevison needs to see these kids play so I contacted him and arranged a meeting. Ron, Vittorio and Vincenzo hit it off famously and are now in the studio creating the debut V2 studio album." Johnny adds, "Vittorio and Vincenzo are genuinely nice, down to earth kids, which makes working with them a real pleasure."
V2 (pronounced Vee Squared) was formed by Vittorio and Vincenzo when they were just 8 years old to play for their Catholic school talent show. The boys played AC/DC hits Back in Black, TNT, and Highway to Hell to the dismay of the school administration and the delight of their school mates. The boys were banned from ever repeating such a performance at their school, so the following year, at age 9, they thrilled 350 screaming fans with a 12 songs set of six AC/DC covers and six original songs at Rock Star University Santa Rosa's HOUSE OF ROCK. Earlier this year, at age 10, a sold out crowd witnessed rock n roll history in the making when Vittorio and Vincenzo performed an 18 song set of 12 of their original rock tunes sprinkled with six ACDC covers, including an unexpected grand finale as Night Ranger's frontman, Jack Blades, stepped from the audience, presented his personal guitar to the boys as a gift of thanks for keeping rock alive in the next generation and then belted out the vocals as the boys brought the house down with AC/DC's Highway to Hell.
Vittorio and Vincenzo are equally excited to be working with Ron Nevison on their first studio project. "We love all the bands Ron has produced and we are looking forward to him working his magic on our songs," says Vittorio. "Yes," adds Vincenzo, "we have only played live shows so we are really enjoying learning how studio songs are produced. Ron is fun to work with."
