REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a newly released Optical Transport forecast report by Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, total worldwide Optical DWDM equipment revenue is forecast to grow at a 12% compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next 5 years, reaching $11 billion. Dell'Oro Group expects that demand for high capacity wavelengths will drive up 40/100 Gbps DWDM shipments to an average annual growth rate of 50%.
