Final Week Brings Contests, Innovative Technology, Amazing Concerts and 4H Judging

As the official launch to summer, the Fair delivers an infinite array of family fun and excitement. Carry the Light, San Mateo County Fair's literary anthology 2012 book, continues the progressive outreach of the Fair. The 300-page anthology includes short stories, poetry and personal essays that tell compelling stories. All were collected during the pre-fair entry period using the Fair's high criteria for excellence. It is widely believed that this is the first anthology of its kind to be accepted for sale via Amazon.com.
"The written word has always been held in high regard at the San Mateo County Fair," says Chris Carpenter. "As proud members of the community, we feel it is important as the leading community event to be the beacon of social advancement by giving budding authors the opportunity to be published and showcase their work. We have expanded our literary involvement to include 'events within the event' throughout the fair as well."
And, for the 4H enthusiasts, the Sheep Showmanship is followed by breeding sheep judging at 4:00 P.M. on June 11th, Livestock Judging from 12 noon-3:00 P.M. on June 14th, and the ever-popular Youth Livestock Auction on Saturday, June 16th.
