MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee (MNSBHC) announced today that they have notified the 10,000 volunteers chosen to be on Crew 52, the official volunteer force of Super Bowl LII. Those chosen to join Crew 52 will be responsible for helping welcome more than one million visitors to Minnesota during our 10-day Super Bowl festival. The All-Crew Volunteer Orientation that starts the training process will be held on November 12 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul. Volunteers will take part in a pep rally, hear volunteer expectations and learn customer service and engagement techniques.
"We are so fortunate to have 10,000 of Minnesota's best ambassadors ready to join Crew 52," said Maureen Bausch, CEO of the MNSBHC. "Our Volunteer Orientation in Saint Paul will be the first time we get the Crew together as a team and channel our Super Bowl excitement into action."
Volunteers accepted to Crew 52 received an email today from Team Captain Chad Greenway welcoming them to the roster:
Crew 52 volunteers will serve at public gathering points such as airports, skyways, hotels, and MNSBHC events, to ensure visitors have the best guest experience during their time in Minnesota. Crew52 volunteers are required to go through an application process, including a background check, interview, and training sessions, before serving during the ten days of festivities leading up to big game.
Volunteers are asked to fulfill three shifts during the 10-day festival. Benefits for volunteers include a free winter-ready uniform and the opportunity to take part in a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase Minnesota on the world's largest stage.
Minnesotans have "stepped onto the field" in record numbers to join Crew52. More than 30,000 people applied to volunteer and 15,000 received interviews. 91 percent of Crew52 volunteer applicants are from Minnesota, hailing from more than 500 different cities across the state.
The All-Crew Volunteer Orientation will take place on Sunday, November 12 from 4-6pm. Doors will open at 2:30pm. Only Crew 52 team members may attend; media will be invited to attend the event.
