$10,000 raised for Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation by Megger
NORRISTOWN, Pa., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Megger held its 16th annual Megger Distributor Golf Event on Saturday, January 28 and raised $10,000 for Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation. The event, held each year at Ahwatukee Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona, is organized in honor of 20 year old cancer graduate Tyler Danner, who is a junior at Northern Arizona University.
David Danner, director of distributor sales for Megger, co-coordinator of the event and Tyler's dad said, "This year we had over 120 golfers participate. Each year this event gets bigger and bigger. It is heartwarming to see the generosity and support displayed by all. Megger makes it possible for us to give back each year in a big way. For that, we are so grateful."
The event, which is hosted by Megger's US distribution team, authorized distributors, customers, employees as well as representatives from Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation, raised an additional $2,500 more than last year's event.
Mike Palmer, event co-coordinator and western regional distribution sales manager for Megger said, "We raised $3,000 with the 50/50 raffle. The raffle winner generously gave all of her winnings back." Additional donations were made by T'Equipment, Rita's Water Ice and Mitchell Instruments.
The Popcorn Factory donated three gift boxes to be raffled off to help Tracy Bunday, a longtime Megger distributor and friend, who is battling pancreatic cancer. Two heated jackets were donated by Transcat as silent auction items to benefit Bunday as well.
The Phoenix Girls' Choir raised over $900 selling $5 mulligans.
For a third year in a row, Andy Augustyniak, Andrew Augustyniak, Jim Cooke and Jamie Braley from Newark Electronics won the event.
During the event, (Tyler) Danner said, "It's hard for me to fully explain the extent of my gratitude for everyone around me right now. There isn't enough time in a lifetime for me to thank each person who helped me through this experience, and each person who continually supports this event and what we do here, but know that from the bottom of my heart, I overwhelmingly appreciate each and every one of you. I am a very lucky girl, and thank you all for helping me."
