$100 million to help retail sector job retention this holiday season

NEW YORK, Nov. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Media Funding Group and MAJORMEDIA announce the availability of a unique funding program this holiday season for consumer product retailers and marketers. Eligible firms will receive major advertising campaigns during the holiday season funded by private investors that believe jobs should be retained and not lost during the holidays. The investors will, in turn, receive potentially high risk equity interests in the retailer or marketer. Retention of retail sector jobs, and the opportunity for successful entrepreneurs to take strong equity interest in the retail sector prompted this initiative.

To be eligible, a marketer or retailer must operate in at least three states, have $1 million or more in equity, and have an operating income deficit at least three out of the last eight financial quarters. Both online and brick-mortar firms are eligible. New entities, with less than two years financial history, are also eligible but will have greater participation requirements. Public entities, traded on a stock exchange, receive preference over privately owned firms.

Media campaigns from $500,000 to $300 million are eligible if tv or radio based, and utilize major media such as the top 50 cable networks. Investor participation for the first round, expected to be close to or exceed $100 million, is lined up. Applicants may submit proposals by Wednesday, December 3^rd, close of business, for funding award on Thursday, December 4. Campaigns start week of December 8 and can run through end of January, 2015.
