CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, in partnership with the Women Presidents' Organization (WPO), announce the honorees of the 2016 Women of Color Achievement Awards. A total of 12 women will be recognized for outstanding professional achievement and exemplary community service. Sponsored by UPS, Microsoft Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, SDI International and Wells Fargo, the event will take place on Thursday, November 17th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, 551 S. Tryon Street in Charlotte.
All award recipients were identified by the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, in conjunction with the Charlotte chapter of the Women Presidents' Organization. The selection criteria included successful operation of a woman-owned or led business that has reached annual revenues of at least $2 million for product-based businesses, or $1 million for service-based businesses. All companies have provided an increase in employment opportunities on a local, regional, and national level and have significantly strengthened the economy.
