$1 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue Sandwiches at Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y., Dec. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- People of Plattsburgh, warm up your day with some slow smoked barbecue! Dickey's Barbecue Pit is celebrating its grand opening today, December 9th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jim Moore and Plattsburgh native Ryan Tolbert are the franchise owners of this location. Moore worked as the morning meteorologist at WPTZ TV, waking up at 1:45 a.m. to bring the weather to the Plattsburgh community. He was looking for a new venture with more reasonable hours.  That's when he turned to a franchise opportunity with Dickey's.

"Since we arrived in Plattsburgh, people went from talking to Jim about the weather to talking about barbecue," said Tolbert.

The 2,000 square foot space is located at 75 Smithfield Blvd.

At the grand opening 98.9 WOKO will be there to entertain the crowd. Customers will enjoy $1 pulled pork big barbecue sandwiches and will be able to enter into a drawing where three lucky people will win free barbecue for a year.
