The report also indicates that 2012 will be an important year to see how virtual appliances take form in the Application Delivery Controller market. While the technology is still in the early stages, virtual appliances comprised 3% of revenue during the quarter. Vendors such as A10, Citrix, F5, and Riverbed currently have offerings in the virtual Application Delivery Controller market.
