Cooliris Expands Partnership with Yandex to Bring Endless Discovery for Photos to Russian Users
-- Integrates Yandex.Disk, Yandex.Images, Yandex.Fotki and more sources to make it the complete media hub for photo discovery and selective sharing
PALO ALTO, California, July 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooliris, creator of Android Gallery, a top 10 most used mobile app in the U.S., today announces an expanded partnership with Yandex, one of the largest European internet companies operating Russia's most popular search engine and most visited website, that brings Yandex.Disk and Yandex.Images to the Cooliris application for iPad and iPhone.
The Cooliris mobile application, which has reached the #1 iPad app in 75 countries for Lifestyle, is the world's most beautiful experience for endlessly discovering and selectively sharing photos from various sources like mobile library, Facebook, Instagram and others, all within a single app.
The Cooliris-Yandex partnership originally launched with Yandex.Fotki integration in the Cooliris mobile app at the beginning of this year, and has shown tremendous success. Cooliris downloads in Russia have increased over 15x, propelling Russia into a top five country for Cooliris installs.
With the expanded partnership with Yandex, Russia's leading internet search provider and technology developer, today's release introduces additional Yandex content to the Cooliris app. Russian users can now access photos from Yandex.Images, Russia's leading image search service, and Yandex.Disk, the country's most popular online cloud storage solution, all within the main menu of the award-winning Cooliris app. With these new integrations, Cooliris brings a truly localized photo experience to users in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Turkey.
"More than half of the millions of files daily uploaded to the Yandex.Disk service are photos and other graphic images. Expanding the range of Yandex.Disk in terms of the opportunities it offers for various types of content is one of our primary objectives. We are happy now to give our users a new convenient way to view their photos stored on Yandex.Disk using a popular app – Cooliris," says Natalia Khaitina, Head of Cloud Solutions at Yandex.
"We are seeing awesome engagement from our users in Russia," says Soujanya Bhumkar, Cooliris CEO. "By expanding our relationship with Yandex, we're extremely excited to continue our exponential growth trajectory."
Also new in today's Cooliris release is integration with photos from Evernote, Tumblr and more, making it the only app where users can access all their photos from 20 major photo sources. The new version also brings deeper photo discovery and navigation, enabling Instagram hashtag search and sharing photos to Facebook with customizable captions, all without leaving the Cooliris app.
With the expanded partnership with Yandex, improved user customizability and deeper integration with popular photo sources, Cooliris strengthens its market position as the complete media hub for photo discovery and sharing.
The latest Cooliris app is available for free on iPad and iPhone in the iTunes App Store.
