Software release 2.3 will be exhibited at Cambium Networks' booth #125 at WISPAPALOOZA, October 13-17, 2014, along with two new products, ePMP Force 110 PTP and ePMP Force 110.
Wi-Fi mode allows ePMP subscriber modules to be installed in any existing point-to-multipoint network, and communicate with any access point in Wi-Fi mode. This capability can be used to upgrade any network without interrupting network services, thereby accelerating network migrations.
"With the release of Wi-Fi mode, you can now upgrade your network without a complete forklift. The new software available for ePMP 1000 opens up new opportunities for customers to offer addition services such as video surveillance, Wi-Fi hotspots and connection to sensors," said Sakid Ahmed, senior director of engineering, Cambium Networks. "We will continue to evolve the ePMP platform to ensure we can support our customers' media- rich applications and offer them best-in-class solutions."
Software release 2.3 makes its debut with the ePMP Force 110 PTP and the ePMP Force 110, which can be configured as a subscriber module or access point. This release incorporates the latest updates to eCommandTM and eFortifyTM, which help monitor the network and handle interference.
Multicast support is also included in release 2.3, which allows network operators to dedicate the best data rate for IPTV subscribers so non-users aren't adversely affected by this bandwidth-intensive application. Also included in 2.3 is a second Ethernet port ideal for attaching a video camera for CCTV or Wi-Fi hotspots.
