Pride Month
Every June, Pride Month is celebrated across the United States. People take part in parades, festivals, concerts, and more to commemorate and honor the LGBTQ+ community. Brands also use this month to show their support. According to GLAAD's Advertising Visibility Index, 66% of Americans feel advertisers have a responsibility to give visibility within their content for LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families.
Throughout May and June, PR Newswire distributed dozens of consumer press releases tied to the LGBTQ+ community, including:

We’ve seen plenty of releases announcing brand collaborations hit the wire over the past 2 months. Here are a few that stood out with readers:

A Summer of Food Industry Trade Shows
The pandemic had a significant impact on in-person trade shows with many shifting to a virtual setup. Now in 2023, trade shows have largely returned to the same formats as before 2020 and that has been evident on the wire. Throughout May and June, we saw many releases (nearly 1,800!) about trade shows distributed via PR Newswire. Some of the most popular trade shows discussed were in the food industry. New products, awards, and innovations are often the highlights of these events.

One thing these trends have in common is that they don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
It is clear that consumers will continue to expect brands to support relevant social issues going forward such as Pride Month. This can be a great way for brands to introduce new products and even reach consumers outside of their typical market. Similarly, collaborations can provide the same outcome for brands and generate excitement from consumers. And after a few years of uncertainty, we can see that in-person trade shows are back and better than ever!
