Zubie launches App Store, powering the Internet of Cars and connecting consumers to other popular services
New partnerships and apps provide Zubie users seamless connections to services that help keep their families safe, simplify and save money on car maintenance, automatically track mileage, and more
CHARLESTON, S.C., Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Zubie, a connected-car leader serving consumers and businesses, today announced the debut of its App Store. The Zubie App Store delivers a gallery of services to customers that makes their Zubie connected car more useful and valuable in their daily lives.
Zubie uses a smart device that plugs directly into a vehicle's On-board Diagnostics (OBD) port, allowing the user to access vehicle data to make driving and owning a car safer, easier and less expensive. Through the Zubie App Store, the value of connected-car capabilities is extended, offering consumers and businesses access to popular services such as Urgent.ly, Openbay, Expensify, Fleetio, PEQ, IFTTT and others. They can:
- Access roadside assistance, in-app and with real-time tracking
- Find and get quotes from nearby reputable car repair shops based on repair needs
- Enable completed business trips to automatically show up within expense reports
- Automatically turn on the lights or set the thermostat before arriving home
"Every decision we make, from the selection of the features we provide, to the apps we're launching in our App Store, centers on providing more ways for our customers to maximize the advantages of what Zubie offers," said Zubie CEO Tim Kelly. "Even as we continue to enhance our core Zubie experience, we want customers to benefit from the way our data and insights can integrate with other services or apps. We have many more exciting apps coming soon, all designed to deliver meaningful value and address real needs for our customers."
The Zubie App Store leverages the power of Zubie's API platform, ZinC (Zubie for the Internet of Cars) announced earlier this year, to enable the wide array of third-party developers and partners building apps and service integrations to Zubie's connected-car platform.
"The true power of ZinC comes from our ability to facilitate a diverse and useful set of applications powered by Zubie data and analytics. We are excited to be working with many innovative partners and app developers to broaden the power and appeal of our services," said Kelly.
